Funny Story Time

Funny is an understatement. It was hilarious and embarrassing at the same time.

It was a usual Monday when I dropped off a patient at her home after her visiting us at the office. I decided to stop and get something to eat at our local WaWa and get gas at the same time. Well, my sister called me as I started pumping my gas, so mid conversation I went in to get my breakfast/lunch. The entire time we were talking about what dress to wear to a party we were supposed to attend. She decided to send me a bunch of pictures of dresses she picked out and kept asking me to look at them. I said “Wait until I get in the car”. Well, I get in the car and put her on speaker and start looking at these dresses. The conversation went deeper because we were discussing the body shapes that some of the dresses looked good on. Anyways, I had to get back to work so I put her on speaker and drove off to work.

As I am pulling out of the gas station this man keeps beeping at me. In my mind I’m thinking “Jeez, you are not giving up trying to talk to a girl”. I keep on driving until he yells at me and says “JUST STOP!!” (throwing his hands up towards my car). I stop, roll down my window and say “yes?”. He points to the back of my car and says “Look!”

When I tell you I was embarrassed, shocked, fell into hysterical laughter it doesn’t do it justice. It was one of those moments where you really had to be there.  The entire hose from the Gas tank was hanging from my car as I was driving away. Thank God it was one of those that just connects onto the pipe from the gasoline station. Well, now i am sitting there thinking “What do I do? Do I go inside and tell them? Do I try to put it back on? Absolutely NOT! What if they make me pay for it? How will I explain it to them?”  I drove to the closest parking spot, pulled it out of my gas tank and kindly walked back over to where I was pumping my gas. By that point there was a man parked there trying to pump his gas. I walked over and handed it to him and he says “How did this happen? What do i do?”. Me being me and trying to sound like it’s all okay I say “Oh, you just stick this over that pipe(pointing to where it goes)” He then says to me “I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to pump here”. At this point the hose are in his hands and I am walking away. Still on the phone with my sister, cracking up. It had to be the most embarrassing and funny thing that has ever happened to me.
